5.2 patch notes - Cyclone nerfed

First time in game history of wow.

  • Cyclone now has a 30 second cooldown for Feral Druids. In addition, it will now share diminishing returns with Banish, Seduction, Bind Elemental, Hex, Freezing Trap, Wyvern Sting, Gouge, Sap, Hibernate, Paralysis, Polymorph, Ring of Frost, Repentance, and Quaking Palm.

Instant Bearform (optional Fae Silence)

Growl, is an off-gcd spell to activate bearform ans Fae Silence glyph is you have it.
(all credit to Mingyo stream and chat)
It is also useful when you want to pop bearform offgcd, like with Might of Ursoc.

The macros I have been using:

MOP & Ferals & upcoming changes

Blizz is a bit worried about burst of bm hunter and warriors, so they are applying a minor nerf to them (not to utility).

I guess they will stay strong, but then again, other specs/classes , feral as well (no doubt ) are very good.

We are getting a buff, no doubt , totally unneeded. We are fine, we have our own iwin button (incarn-tf-zerk-agi trinket-synapse spring after) , yeah true only every 3 minutes, but utility and sustained bleeds are closing the gap between the cd's.

I do not mind about using Savage Roar anymore, but the SR glyph is a must have for strong openers.

What I do mind that are some classes and abilities are still under the radar, destro lock's are very quiet and very good, elem shamans also strong burst capable.

Rogues are still weak :/ but we nevertheless played some pala rogue feral for fun, and I ended up symb-ing the rogue for an awesome def ability called, Growl which makes them much more durable.

I'll be back in a few days, Darkdin is joining us on Ragnaros - EU tomorrow. Time to do some arenas finally.

Upcoming Changes

 Druid (Forums)
  • Mangle now does 500% normal damage plus 78, up from 400% normal damage plus 62.
  • Rake damage reduced by 15%.
  • Ravage! now does 950% weapon damage, up from 750%.
  • Symbiosis now has a 2 sec cast time, down from 6 sec.


  • Shred now does 500% damage plus 78, up from 400% damage plus 62.

Feral & Guardian
  • Ravage now does 950% damage plus 78, up from 750% damage plus 62.

That Symbiosis cast time.. can't wait to MC and Symbiosis other targets (wanna try this for some time now)

Warriors are getting a minor nerf as of this moment for overpower and mortal strike. Utility remains untouched, BM hunter stampeded-spirit beast heal, burst damage and frequency remains unchanged.

Which is actually very annoying given that many warriors and hunters are already in position on ladder and will camp good rating until the end of season just because playing their unjust, overpowered class.

Sad, really.

Feral tidbits @ 90

  • Frost bomb can be melded, and completely negated of any damage, needs perfect timing
  • 4 setbonus pvp enables free ravage every 30 seconds
    • This can lined up before cooldown, or simply at opening to maximize damage
  • Incarnation vanish, does not blocks incoming attacks and spell like shadowmeld does
    • You cannot negate the effect, but you can stealth is, for example a shatter incoming will still hit you but you will stay in stealth with good timing
  • Typhoon abuse is excellent choice around edges.. duh (still!)
  • Warrior shockwave damages around 60 k crit against plate (warrior pff) and does not share DR with his charge
  • Warrior charge can by typhooned to prevent him landing on you 
  • Make your targettarget macros, for example i have macroed healing touch on my enemies target, supporting friends and allies in pvp
  • Healing Touch from instant can be casted while spamming restealth to maximize utility

Feral Impressions @ 90

I managed to get some normal gear, and I feel more like a feral now. Short version, I like it. It is hard to play, but it is rewarding. You will re-learn your class, and you will struggle. And you will rise, rise and kick ass like never before.

Need more to experience, but I like what I see.

Warriors? BM Hunters? Yea way too op, nerf hammers is coming. Insane INSANE dmg they can do, Stampede spirit beast heal, 1 min burst on BM and warrior utility LIST (LONG LONG LIST) have to go in some form.

The rest of the classes seem to be okay.

Monks? Cannor say much, haven't really see any good monks, which is undesrtandable. They need time, but there is potential . A lot.

Savage Roar glyph. I went with this one in the end, instead of Fae Silence. Fae Silence is bugged and does not reapply silence if FF is already up. Sometimes, at least.

Some dmg scrshots, hard to keep up with Stelike, but not bad not bad at all.

Level 87 impressions

  • Symbiosis can only be cast on group members
  • Energy starvation is a serious problem
    • Energy pool is very limited without old King of the Jungle
    • Energy Regeneration is completely lacking
  • Ferocious Bite at 87 , with 5cp and 35 energy = mangle
  • Savage Roar uptime is a clunky mechanic
    • Priority denies other finishers
  • Fae Silence is bugged (sometimes no silence)
  • Damage is lacking


  • CC in forms
  • Symbiosis spells , especially lock and shaman buffs
  • Built - in mechanics in abilities
    • Rip duration extend from additonal shred/mangle/ravage
    • Ferocious Bite rip refresh under 25%hp

MOP rogue concentrated poison effects

The new Shiv will apply concentrated effects of the active utility poison.  Those effects are not included in the poison tooltips currently available on the calculator, but here are the current versions:

Crippling Poison – Reduces the target’s speed by 70% for 12 seconds.Mind-Numbing Poison – Increases the casting time of an enemy's next spellcast within 8 seconds by 100%.Wound Poison – Reduces the target’s healing received by 50% for 6 seconds.Leeching Poison – Instantly restores 5% of the Rogue’s health.Paralytic Poison – Roots the target in place for 4 seconds.

5.0.4 and MOP feral Q&A

  • How far Typhoon knockback a target from you, making it harder to stay on top of him?
  • Not that fat, and the daze in itself is great. Seems to be 5-10 yards of knockback.

  • What cone radius Typhoon has?
  • A very wide radius like 120' at 10 yards distance.

  • Can Travel Form Wild Charge prevent falling damage?
  • Yes it can. When falling, activating it stops you for a split second in air, but probably will not leap you forward.

  • Is Stampede - Ravage still exists?
  • No, and yes if you manage to get new pvp 4 set bonus which rather makes you enable to use one ravage every 30 seconds.

  • Can Savage Roar used in stealth?
  • Yes.

  • Is rogue stealth stronger?
  • Not by default, BUT rogues now have an ability called Shadow Walk, level 72 , 60 sec cd ability which gives effectively +1-3 stealth level for 6 seconds

  • Which Symbiosis spell is the best?
  • Right now Shaman Spirit Wolves with minor healing and priest dispersions are the pvp bests.

  • What distance Travel form jump do?
  • 20 yards. Treants will also jump with you which is hilarious.

  • Can we shift out of roots again?
  • Yes , we can.
  • How much are you healing for with instants in Cat Form?
  • 47k-150k. Depends on Healing Weapon equip, or on use spell (NS = +50% healing)

Some macros to take into consideration:

Bearform + some modifiers , focus stun and symbiosis

As there is little use of focus Symbiosis now, given the limited focus target use of the spell, the only symb. spell is Summon Wolves from Shaman, and it can be bound to my treant control spells and macros anyway.

The MOP CC class

While lacking in the damage and easy to handle class department, feral has a lot of ways to control the enemies, himself and the environment around, in MOP.

If you have checked my previous post you could see my unique talent choices (which are indeed not final still debating about incarnation>force of nature, but on the other hand everybody will use it and ravage still costs 45 energy , though good damage , way better.. khm sorry got carried there... :) ) which provides a wide variety of abilities and talents to use.

Let's make a short list of them here:
  • Mighty Bash in all forms (caster too yes, even travel form)
  • Force of Nature Bash (target or on focus, trap collector 1min cd)
  • Typhoon (6 sec daze , interrupt on casts, even knockback, hunter's from stealth for example)
  • Maim (old school still good)
  • Pounce (target or focus)
  • Savage Roar (can be cast in stealth, even without Combo Points when glyphed -> pounce and cc other target for example with an instant already procced, and restealth here i come!)
  • Nature's Swiftness (double instant cast, clone, root anyone, or even heal in glyphed cat form +20% healing?)
  • Nature's Grasp (only 1 charge (thank god, was time to nerf this shit, 1 min cd)
  • Soothe (all enrage effect dispel , no cd!)
  • Hibernate (can be cast in forms with PS up)
  • Survival Instincts (it's back for ferals)
  • Speed on feral (roar, dash, innate speed)
  • Wild Charge 
    • Leap of Faith onto friendly target
    • Leap onto targets target
    • Travel jump 20 yards forward
    • Catstep
    • Feral Charge , immobilizng 4 sec
    • Leap onto Force of Nature pets :')))
A bit too many stuns you could say, indeed, but what about it when we stun 3 different targets at once. Good peeling, and it opens up quite a few possibilities.

Imagine, to open up with ravage (+50% crit chane above 80% hp) mighty bash for maximum effect stun, incarn - pounce or maim for half dr stun, or clone - restealth, open up again with ravage but hibernate this time (no bleeds, less damage somewhat on shreds), then dr fades, rinse and repeat.

Some of the major / minor glyps I am considering right now:
Glyph of +20% healing in cat form
Glyph of Barkskin -25% crit chance on incoming blows
Fae Silence Bear Form FF silences for 3 seconds insane even its only in bear
Ferocious Bite healing same as current
Nature's grasp glyph -30sec
Glyph of Prowl no movement penalty while stealthed
Glyph of Regrowth +40% crit chance but on hot
Glyph of Savage Roar no cp use 12 sec duration
Glyph of Shred TF+ Berserk=no pos. req.
Glpyh of Skull Bash Increases the duration of kick lockout by 4 secs but increases cd by 10 seconds

XGD3 + Burner Max settings

As I am focusing more on IRL, less on wow or even on D3 (overhyped I'd say, played through once, not interested in spending more time on it atm), I had gone ahead got an IHAS drive, flashed it and played around the tweaks to get the best copy of games on my verbatim.

First if you plan to make excellent copies of XGD3 games (google it if you don't know, but if you play xbox360 you do), you'll need:

-an IHAS drive to flash
-perfect understanding how to flash and update iso's and burn them
-verbatim dl discs
-abgx and ap2.5 topology data to inject into iso
-drive with optimal settings (this changes but after many trial and error community do have a good insight what should be chosen)
-imgburn with right settings (calculate optimal)

This will get you started. It is pretty straightforward, just be sure you select the correct drive, and follow the instructions.

After this you will have a Burner Max drive ready to write even more data on a double layered disc (verbatim, verbatim guys but if you have worse dvd try this here:
A rip of an XGD2 game is 7,838,695,424 Bytes (7.8 GB); A rip of an XGD3 game is 8,738,846,720 Bytes (8.7 GB), so you won't have to "truncate" discs in Imgburn anymore.

MKM-001-00 discs (rated at 2.4X) - Burn at 2.4X. Without OPC turned OFF!

MKM-003-00 discs (rated at 8X) - Burn at 4X with OPC turned on in ImgBurn (Tools - Settings... - Write (tab) - Place check mark next to "Perform OPC Before Write").

Recommended eeprom extra settings for drive:
- Write Speed - 4x
- OPC - off
- Smartburn - on
- Force HT - off
- Online HT - off
- Overspeed - off

Bad news is that I will be releasing the movie with only 3:25 mins long.

Good news that I will be releasing another one in 2012 first half.

Thus I am renaming the HTF4 to HTF 3.5:)

Right now I'm on training on EU-Stormscale, under the name of Starmistx.
